Chhalang is a story of a girl named Radhika (played by Megha Ray) who dreams big but is held back by the societal bonds of achieving something bigger in life.
The story is set in Jhansi, where Radhika's mother (played by Kashish Duggal Paul) reminds Radhika that her father may not allow her to go to Mumbai to study.
Radhika's mother is also seen reminding her that her grandmother is a 7th class pass, she is a graduate, while Radhika should aim for something much bigger but how?
In the promo release of the Chhalang serial, Radhika tells her mother that since her father used to urge her to go to school every day.
In the same way, she will urge him to expand his thinking and allow her to go to Mumbai since dreams are earned by gaining trust and jumping (Chhalang) from the old ways to the new ones.
Chhalang's plot will revolve around Radhika discovering a new life for herself while fighting with society.
