India Premier League cricket will be airing on Star Sports 1 for various languages and on Star Gold TV Channels.

Indian Premier League 15 Match Format, Winner Selection:

IPL 2022 has brought some changes in the format because of the addition of two new teams. The teams will be divided into two groups named Group A and Group B.

The division of the teams into groups are shown in the table below:

Every team will play 2 matches with the teams in the opposite group (total 10 matches) and a single match with the teams in the same group (total 4 matches).

However, the qualification for playoffs will not be similar to World Cup matches. Even though the teams are divided into groups, there will remain a single points table with all the 10 teams in it.

After the completion of all 14 matches for each team, the top 4 teams on the points table will be qualified for playoffs and proceed as follows :

Play-off 1: Team at 1st position vs Team at 2nd position (winner proceeds to finals & loser has to play the eliminator match)

Play-off 2: Team at 3rd position vs Team at 4th position (loser gets disqualified while the winner will proceed to eliminator)

Eliminator: Loser of Play-off 1 vs Winner of Play-off 2 (loser gets disqualified & the winner enters the final match)

Finals: Winner of Playoff 1 vs Winner of Eliminator.

IPL15, (IPL2022) 2 New Teams:

Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants are the new teams joining the IPL journey with the 15th season of the series. The addition of these two teams has made IPL a ten-team tournament.

The team of Gujarat Titans is owned by CVC Capital Partners Group while Sanjiv Goenka is the owner of the team Lucknow Super Giants.

IPL Season 2022 Auctions, Highest bids by each IPL Season 15 team:

Currently, the highest bid of 15.25 Cr INR is made by Mumbai Indians for Keeper-Batsman Ishan Kishan.

The second on the list is Deepak Chahar who has been bought by Chennai Super Kings with 14 Cr INR.

Kolkata Knight Riders have put their highest bid on Shreyas Iyer which is 12.25 Cr INR.

Next comes Delhi Capitals who bought a bowler Shardul Thakur for 10.75 Cr INR.

Royal Challengers Bangalore brought back Harshal Patel to the team along with a new challenger Wanindu Hasaranga with 10.75 Cr INR.

Also, with the price of 10.75 Cr INR, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Nicholas Pooran.

The two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants bought Lockie Ferguson and Avesh Khan respectively with the price of 10 Cr INR.

Rajasthan Royals have made a bid of 10 Cr INR to buy Prasidh Krishna to their team.

Lastly, Punjab Kings' highest bid is 9.25 Cr INR for Kagiso Rabada.
