Located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, Kalaignar TV is a general entertainment television station in the Tamil language.

The channel, originally known as Kalaignar, debuted on September 15, 2007, and is named for M. Karunanidhi, a former chief minister of Tamil Nadu.

With a successful run for the past 16 years, the channel has planned to launch another new reality show that will attract the audience sooner or later.

The show titled 'Vaa Tamila' or 'Vaa Thamizha' has planned to find the best Tamil speaker among Tamil Nadu.

In the preliminary stage, the competitors had to talk using Tamil words, phrases, and letters.

The judges for the competition were the poet Indummathi and Nellai Kannan.

From a total of 6 zones, more than 200 applicants qualified and moved on to the next phase.

The selected 30 contestants of this upcoming show are required to show off their abilities by taking part in rounds of storytelling, poetry reading, and narration.

The best speaker in Tamil Nadu will be named after the victorious speaker at the conclusion of these rounds.

The best speaker will also receive a prize of Rs. 2 lacs as the event progresses as they will emerge as the WINNER too.

Nellai Kannan and Bharathi Baskar are expected to be the judges of the show.
