Kumkum Bhagya Review: Abhi-Pragya’s painful separation story

Kumkum Bhagya Review:

Kumkum Bhagya is one of the long-running serials and best-reviewed on Zee TV and has gained a lot of popularity ever since.

All positive reviews are based on the handsome Shabir Ahluwalia and beautiful actress Sriti Jha who play the role of Abhi and Pragya respectively.

Kumkum Bhagya's story is a mix of emotions and separation as the two love birds fail to stay together under certain circumstances.

Kumkum Bhagya Plot

The plot of Kumkum Bhagya is similar to any other typical serial where a middle-class girl gets married to a rich boy.

Pragya and Abhi fall in love after some time but Abhi’s sister Alia is not happy with their relationship.

She plots to separate them and after a series of events she succeeds. Abhi and Pragya have two daughters, Rhea and Prachi.

Prachi stays with Pragya and is a simple girl like her mother. Rhea lives with Abhi and is spoiled by her aunt Alia.

Rhea and Prachi’s story begins and they both fall for the same guy Ranbir at college. Ranbir is in love with Prachi but is unable to marry her because of his own mother.

Fate brings Abhi and Pragya together once again and they get married. However, Abhi’s life is at risk again because of a goon.

Abhi gets critical while Pragya rushes to see him and even risks her own life. The series of events in Kumkum Bhagya bring a lot of twists and turns.

Kumkum Bhagya Cast:

Lead actor Shabir Ahluwalia as Abhi:

The handsome and talented actor, Shabir Ahluwalia plays the role of Abhi in the serial. He is a singer and girls are crazy for him.

Abhi gets married to a middle-class girl named Pragya under certain circumstances. He is arrogant and gets his way with things.

However, his character changes with the entry of Pragya into his life. He becomes more humble and kind and falls in love with Pragya eventually.

Lead actress Sriti Jha as Pragya:

Pragya is a simple girl who respects and loves her mother. She handles the family business Kumkum Bhagya marriage hall and helps her mother.

She is kind and generous but hates people like Abhi who are arrogant and self-centered. She gets married to Abhi and further gives birth to twin daughters, Prachi and Rhea.

Pragya’s character sacrifices a lot for Abhi and her family and even leaves him to keep him happy.

She is a prey to Alia’s evil tactics and is not able to keep her family together. She meets Rhea after a long time and the scene is rather emotional.

Kumkum Bhagya review:

Kumkum Bhagya serial is set in a high-class Mehra family and the background details are portrayed well like any other Ekta Kapoor serial.

The maturity of Pragya’s character is one of the highlights that give a sense of women empowerment.

Pragya and Abhi’s love story is essayed in a slow and steady manner from the beginning. The dialogue delivery is top-notch as the actors play their roles well.

The only setback in the serial is the old concept of poor girl-rich boy marriage. There is nothing new or unique in the story.

Overall Kumkum Bhagya (कुमकुम भाग्य) does well with its interesting twists and stellar star cast.
