Today's Anupama 17th May 2023 episode starts with Malti Devi making an unamused face after Anupama invites her to attend Samar's wedding.

Malti Devi tells Anupama that she hates any familial distractions that hamper her dancing schedule and career in any way.

She further says she does not have the leisurely time to go and enjoy herself at Anupama's son's wedding.

Anupama feels upset hearing Malti Devi's words but does not further request her and silently leaves the Gurukul along with Bhairavi.

Later, Anupama and Bhairavi get ready and walk their way toward the Shah house as Kanta and Bhavesh have already left before them.

Bhairavi talks about Malti Devi being too scary which makes Anupama and she says that there is love in Guru's anger too.

As Anupama limps her way through the busy streets due to pain in her leg, her thoughts get clouded with the memories of Anuj from the past.

Anupama tells herself that the day ahead will be tough for her as she is not ready to face Anuj at all and has been avoiding thoughts about what she would say to him.

Meanwhile, everyone in the Shah family gets busy preparing for the pooja and Dolly comes to visit them with her daughter Meenu which lights up the atmosphere.

Kavya comes to the pooja and enters the house, leaving Vanraj and Leela silent as they were not expecting her.

Leela asks Kavya how come she has come to which Kavya replies that she had to come as she promised Samar and Anupama also called her.

Vanraj talks to Kavya about how her life is going to which Kavya replies that she is taking a break while appearing nervous for some reason.

As Vanraj asks Kavya what the matter is, Kavya changes the topic and tells Vanraj that she is not the cause of his heart attack to which Vanraj agrees.

At the same time, Anupama's shoe slides out of her foot and gets lost on the street, making Anupama on one leg to search for the other pair.

As Anupama finds the shoe and is about to wear it, a hand accompanies her by pushing the shoe perfectly toward her foot.

Anuj appears in front of Anupama with an expression of regret and yearning which he tries to hide while thinking to himself about what he should speak to Anupama about.

Anupama wishes that Anuj would say something to her but gets upset about seeing Anuj standing in front of her like a mute person.

However, Anu comes running to Anuj and Anupama's face lights up seeing her daughter after so many days.

Anupama kneels on her knees to get to Anu's height and hugs Anu in her arms with her eyes getting moist as she missed her "bebli" so much.

As Anupama showers a bunch of questions at Anu, about how she has been, and how she got injured after Anupama notices a band-aid, Anu stays silent and does not show any excitement.

Anupama says that she has been missing Anu by watching the children from her school, her favorite ice cream, and her favorite cartoon but Anu replies coldly by saying she is good.

Vanraj welcomes Pakhi, Adhik, Ankush, and Barkha and witnesses the scene between Anupama and Anuj from a distance when Maaya appears there.

Anu asks Anuj to come inside and addresses Maaya as "Maa" which breaks Anupama's heart as Anu seems to be changed.

Vanraj welcomes Anuj with witty remarks about him choosing stone over diamond and Anuj enters the house along with Maaya and Anu, making everyone go silent.

Anuj takes Hasmukh and Leela's blessings while Kanta refuses to look at Anuj and interact with him.

As Anuj comes to Samar and Dimple, Samar averts his eyes from Anuj which makes Anuj sad and he hugs Ankush as if his heart is asking for help from everyone.
