Today's Anupama 20th May 2023 episode starts with Anuj refusing to shift to Kapadia mansion as he does not want to go there and stay in the hotel instead.

Maaya says that they need to be there to look after the marriage preparations as they are playing the roles of Dimple's parents at present.

As Maaya says that they should call the hotel and ask them to bring their luggage so that they can go to their own house, Anuj tells her that he is not ready to do that.

Maaya's stare changes and she asks Anuj if he is refusing to shift to that house because of Anupama's memories.

Trying to persuade Anuj, Maaya says that he needs to fill new memories in place of Anupama's which is possible only by staying at their home together.

Hasmukh hears Maaya's words and Anuj turns around to face Hasmukh with a guilt-ridden face, knowing well that Hasmukh has many questions for him.

Maaya walks away from there while Anuj and Hasmukh sit together to have a discussion which soon attracts everyone's attention.

Hasmukh asks Anuj to tell him everything that he is hiding in his heart and is unable to tell Anupama.

Anuj says there is nothing like that and there is nothing to hide.

As Hasmukh questions Anuj about his relationship with Maaya and why she is trying to become his wife, Anuj becomes restless and hides his tears.

Anuj tells Hasmukh that some questions are better if they remain unanswered after which Hasmukh stands up to leave.

However, Anuj apologizes to Hasmukh with tears for saying all that.

Anupama was listening to the whole conversation and finds something unsettling about Anuj's behavior.

Leela tells Maaya everything about the rituals of the marriage while Anupama feels bad hearing them and leaves from there.

Adhik asks Barkha if Anuj is coming to stay with them to which Barkha replies with a yes which makes both of them nervous as they performed a loss for the company.

Barkha says that the whole marriage is like a chess game and all the pieces are waiting for something to happen so that they can play their game.

Bhairavi, Anu, and Meenu sit together and plan for the sangeet when Anu gets to know that Bhairavi stays with Anupama and does not seem happy about that.

Leela comes and acts like there are many work which makes Bhairavi go to do them and Leela smirks slightly watching Bhairavi.

Later, Leela, Hasmukh, and Vanraj sit together and have tea while Vanraj stares at Anupama with gloomy eyes.

Leela assures Vanraj that Anuj and Anupama will not talk to each other as Maaya has taken Anupama's place in Anuj's life and they might soon marry each other.

Vanraj says that he does not care about Anuj and Maaya but their presence at the rituals is affecting Anupama a lot.

As Leela talks about Dimple being the reason behind this atmosphere, Dolly comes and tells Leela that Dimple is a girl with a sharp tongue and Leela has got her competitor.

Vanraj spots Anuj going after Anupama and gets a bit worried while Maaya searches for Anuj everywhere.

Anupama feels Anuj's presence and says that she knew that Anuj will come to talk to her.

Anuj enters the room and congratulates Anupama for getting the chance to go to America while Anupama asks him if he has nothing more to say to her.

Before Anuj can say anything, Maaya comes there huffing and asks Anuj to come out of the room which he obeys at once and leaves behind Anupama alone.
