Today's Anupama 2nd February 2023 episode starts with Maaya saying that it is easy to question people about why they could not meet their children and acted as if they are strangers to them.

However, there was a time when Maaya could not even afford to eat for days because of poverty that she faced.

Maaya says that poverty is a thing that makes women very weak as she cannot raise her child with only the love that she has.

The money she needed to raise Anu was not there with her as she struggled to manage a roof over her head in the past.

Anupama listens to Maaya silently as she says that once she saw a roti lying on the streets and forgot her self-esteem and dignity in the face of hunger.

However, a dog took away the roti before she could get a hold of it and it was then that she realized that she needs to fight for herself and her daughter.

Maaya says that she has waited years with the reassurance that at least her daughter has a roof over her head and has stored her memories carefully like a treasure.

Anupama asks Maaya if Anu’s father is still there in her life but Maaya gets defensive on hearing that question and says that she does not want to talk about it.

Changing the topic in an instant, Maaya says that they should get ready as they need to go shopping leaving Anupama in deep thought.

Meanwhile, Barkha comes to Ankush and asks him what is going on in the house as Anupama, Maaya, and Anuj have gone to shopping together.

Ankush tells Barkha to wait till the birthday party gets over as he has found a solid gig that will blow everyone’s minds.

At the same time, Toshu sticks several of his business cards on the gift box so that he gets noticed by Maya while accepting the gift.

Hasmukh says that he wants to give a pair of silver anklets to Anu as she likes to dance a lot.

As Leela shows interest in going there, Hasmukh and Kinjal ask her why she is going when she has declared that she is separate from Anupama.

Leela says that she must go to the birthday party as she needs to watch the drama with her own eyes.

Later, Leela and Vanraj watch Kavya talking to someone on the phone about London and discuss the matter within themselves.

Leela tells Vanraj to stop Kavya in the same way they stopped Anupama from going to America in the past.

On the other hand, Anu gets overwhelmed with joy from seeing so many gifts bought by Anuj, Anupama, and Maaya.

Maaya tells Anu that she will do the decoration which offends Anupama a bit and she asks Maaya to respect her and Anuj the way they are respecting her after Anu leaves.

Ankush mocks Maaya as she says that they can use the money to buy the services of the events company and says that Maaya is very familiar with how to buy services.

Maaya asks Anupama if she can sleep with Anu that night to which Anuj grants her permission.

Later that night, Anuj and Anupama spot Anu putting Maaya to sleep and walk away after getting emotional.

Anu comes to Anuj and Anupama later as they wish her a happy birthday while Maaya sings the birthday song to Anu’s picture.

Maaya talks with a woman named Sushma and asks her to come the next day as she is the reason that Maaya could meet Anu again.
