Today's Bhagya Lakshmi 21st May 2023 episode starts with Rishi telling Neelam that he will not stay away from Lakshmi and will stand in front of her to save her. 

He tells her that she might have birthed him but it is Lakshmi who has given him life and now he will protect her. 

Neelam tells him to not get involved in this as she will take care of everything. 

However, Rishi tells her that he will protect Lakshmi at all costs and will not stop even if it means dying for her. 

Neelam becomes terrified and tells him that if he dares to go near Lakshmi, then he will see her dead face. 

Meanwhile, Rishi tells Neelam that if anything happens to Lakshmi then he will kill himself too as she is his life. 

Rishi confesses his feelings for Lakshmi to Neelam and begs her to not stop him. 

On the other hand, Lakshmi brings juice for Virendra while he notices her empty neck and invites her to hug him to console her. 

Lakshmi begins to cry and tells him that she is feeling very weird and fears that all her ties will end in this house. 

However, Virendra tells her that she will always be his daughter and apologises to her for not being able to keep her happy.  

Just then, Karishma puts her hand on Rishi and brings him back from his dreamland. 

He feels stupid for imagining such a long scenario while Karishma asks him what is he doing at the door. 

Rishi decides to not let them know that he knows the truth and lies about checking up on Neelam. 

Later, Karishma asks Neelam if Rishi has somehow heard them talking to Pandit Ji and knows the truth. 

However, Neelam hopes not or Rishi will be out of her hands. 

In the meantime, Rishi is recalling Pandit Ji’s words and Neelam’s unusual behaviour for the past few days and tells himself that he cannot leave Lakshmi alone as he loves her. 

He states that Lakshmi has risked her life many times for him and now it is his turn to protect Lakshmi. 

He is afraid that if Neelam will find out about him knowing the truth, then she will separate him from Lakshmi and he will not be able to protect her. 

In the meantime, Vikrant comes inside with Dadi and tells her that he has come to pick up Lakshmi to go for ring-shopping. 

Just then, Lakshmi comes there and goes out with Vikrant. 

Meanwhile, Rishi is searching for Lakshmi everywhere when Harleen tells him that Lakshmi has gone with Vikrant to shop for an engagement ring. 

She notices Rishi’s worried face and asks him if everything is alright. 

Neelam and Karishma also come there and asks Rishi why he looks in a hurry. 

Just then, Rishi spots Malishka and tells them that he is thinking of taking Malishka for jewellery shopping. 

Malishka overhears Rishi and happily tells him that she is happy that he is thinking about her and not Lakshmi. 

As Rishi goes back to his room, Neelam asks Dadi where Lakshmi is and if Rishi also knows that she has gone out with Vikrant. 

On being confirmed, Karishma asks Neelam if he is really going for Malishka or if he is after Lakshmi. 

Meanwhile, Rishi is worried about not knowing where Lakshmi has gone and thinks of calling Shalu to know their shop address.

He decides that he will reach their co-incidentally and will stay beside Laksmi without making the situation odd for Vikrant and Lakshmi.
