Today's Kumkum Bhagya 22nd September 2023 episode starts with Prachi and Ranbir talking to each other at the police station.

Prachi tells Ranbir that once she finds Khushi, she will not let her see him anymore in this lifetime.

Ranbir promises the same to Prachi reminding her that Khushi is his daughter too while Prachi walks away and gets locked inside the cell with another offender.

Akshay comes to meet Ranbir and fakes his act as an anxious father who is ready to give away everything to bring Khushi back when he is the one who has kidnapped the child.

Trying to gain empathy, Akshay tells the inspector about how Khushi was sent to the orphanage despite having Ranbir and Prachi as her parents as they fought too much with each other.

Akshay says that he met Khushi through Prachi and found himself as a father after which the orphanage designayed him as Khushi's first parent.

The inspector seems to get convinced that Ranbir is the kidnapper as Akshay tells him that Ranbir can do anything to get Prachi and Khushi back in his life.

Ranbir tells Akshay that Prachi is his wife and he sees them as his family which Akshay uses against Ranbir and instigates the inspector against him.

The inspector leaves with Ranbir shouting out that he is not the culprit while Akshay seems to be delighted to see everything moving according to him.

He goes to see Khushi's condition and forgets to bring the money for the goons who have done his work but assures them that he will give them soon.

Khushi wakes up with hazy vision but gets injected with sleeping medicine again after which Akshay joins Prachi to gaslight her.

Akshay tells Prachi that he just wants Khushi to come back and says that Ranbir said that he can even kidnap Khushi to make her and Prachi his family which is the actual motive.

Prachi comes inside and questions Ranbir about how he can do something like that making Ranbir ask Prachi not to suspect him and opens her eyes to see around her.

Akshay tells Ranbir that he can take Prachi but return Khushi to which Prachi says that she will not forgive the person who has done the deed and leaves.

Ranbir comes back to the cell and the man inside tells him that he can help him to find out Khushi.

Meanwhile, Mihika asks Vishakha if she should support Ranbir by going against the family to which Vishakha suggests that she should do the thing she thinks is correct.

Prachi and Akshay return home and Akshay tells the kidnapper that it is wrong number as he calls Akshay in front of Prachi which angers the kidnapper.

Mihika decides to stand by Ranbir's side and comes to the police station to meet him when Pallavi and Dida also come there to meet him.

Pallavi asks Mihika to leave but Ranbir tells them not to blame Mihika as it is not her fault adding that they should leave him alone as he needs to figure out how to find Khushi.

As Pallavi leaves with Mihika and Dida, the man asks Ranbir about Khushi's age making Ranbir turn around to answer him.
