Today's Shark Tank India 2 17th January 2023 episode starts with the first brand on the day to come on the stage is Gharsoaps started by Samyam Jain and Sunny Jain.
Both are step-brothers and they appreciate each other.
Gharsoaps on Shark Tank India
Gharsoaps sell products based on a unique mixture of Ayurveda & Science.
Gharsoaps ask for 60 lakhs at 2% equity with a valuation of 30 crores.
Their last month's sales were 80 lakhs and 70% of the revenue is generated from their website.
Peyush Bansal asks them about their long-term vision & Samyam answers that he wishes to have a face detector technology per which they can sell their Gharsoaps products.
Peyush and Anupam Mittal collectively offer 60 lakhs at 10% equity with a valuation of 6 crores and Aman Gupta quote the same. Namita Thapar and Amit Jain back off.
The Gharsoaps duo makes a counteroffer of 1 crore at 5% equity with a valuation of 20 crores.
However, Aman Gupta also makes a counter offer of 60 lakhs at 4% equity with a valuation of 15 crores.
Piyush Bansal & Amit Jain matches it but Aman puts a condition that if Gharsoaps walks out to think, his offer will be closed.
Finally, Aman Gupta seizes the deal with Gharsoaps at 60 lakhs at 4% equity with a valuation of 15 crores.
Janitri Maternity Care Brand
The second brand to come on the stage of Shark Tank India Season 2 is Janitri, founded by Arun Agarwal.
Janitri manufactures wearable and AI-enabled devices.
Janitri asks for 1 crore at 2.5% equity with a valuation of 40 crores.
Their products as of now are 3 in number, starting from Keyar Patch that is worn on the wrist and analyses the fetal movement.
Janitri also has a mobile application named Daksh that measures fetus' heart rate, mothers' rate, pulse, etc.
Anupam Mittal gets very impressed when he hears Arun say that his business is a B2B business.
Keyar costs 24,000-29,000 and Daksh mobile costs 10,000. However, the Sharks get confused with the low sales of last month which were 10 lakhs.
Aman and Anupam backs out since Namita Thapar makes a deal to Janitri of 75 lakhs at 5% equity with a valuation of 15 crores and 25 lakhs in debt.
Peyush and Amit Jain make a collective offer of 1 crore at 5% equity at a valuation of 20 crores at the condition if next year's sale does not cross 20 crores, the Sharks will get an additional 2.5% equity.
Namita makes a counteroffer of 1 crore at 2.5% equity & 40 lakhs in debt with the same contingent and Janitri accepts it.
Jaipur Watch Company - India's Luxury Brand Watch Company
The third brand to pitch in front of the Sharks is Jaipur Watch Company, founded by Gaurav Mehta who aims to see India as a country selling luxury brand watches to a global audience.
The ask is for 50 lakhs at 2% equity with a valuation of 25 crores.
Their product ranges from 20,000 rupees and has gone up to 24 lakh rupees in terms of watch orders to be made in Gold.
However, all the Sharks feel that Gaurav is a bit confused since he is an artist but could have started this brand by his name to make it big.
Namita backs off, saying it doesn't look scalable to her while Peyush Bansal advises him to open his stores also and work more on the logo & the brand.
Anupam Mittal doesn't find the company investable while Amit and Aman also wish the Jaipur Watch Company all the best with no offer.
