Today's Yeh Hai Chahatein 10th April 2023 episode starts with Akhtar confessing that although Malti does not want him, he wants to wait in India.

He apologises for leaving them for ten years and also asks Nayantara to think that if possible, he wants to start fresh with them.

Nayantara wants some time to think and after they go out, Nayantara tells that Malti will decide about Akhtar.

She enquires about Ishani being there to which she lies about meeting Akhtar because Samrat and Aliya have already gone and she doesn't want to involve them.

After reaching home, Malti explains to Nayantara that she got shocked when Akhtar returned after eight years.

She clarifies that Akhtar not only betrayed them for another woman but has also committed a crime and escaped.

This is why Malti doesn't want Akhtar but Nayantara makes her understand that he feels guilty and they should give him a second chance.

Malti needs time as Nayantara supports and promises to be always with her.

Meanwhile, Samrat and Aliya want to meet Akhtar as Mohit comments on this being a very complicated case.

He says it will be risky to meet Akhtar as Nayantara will be with him so Samrat notes the publishing house of his book from which he is sure to get Akhtar's address and will meet him as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Nayantara decides not to tell Samrat about Akhtar as he too doesn't disclose that he knows Akhtar as Govind.

Samrat feels bad for not supporting Nayantara in her time of need and Nayantara goes to rest without having a conversation with Samrat.

Ishani enquires why they left her alone as Samrat gives an excuse about going somewhere important for work.

When asked, Ishani tells it is a long story but Akhtar is her father and was never dead.

Mohit finds it suspicious that Ishani is hiding but Samrat is determined to meet Akhtar.

He visits the publishing house where he finds the receptionist as his fan, who initially denies giving the address.

However Samrat says that he wants to surprise his wife on her birthday, so gradually he gets Akhtar's address.

Meanwhile, Malti explains everything to Shanti (Paati) and confesses that she cannot forget the betrayal.

Shanti calms her and tells her that Malti should not stay alone for her whole life so she should accept Govind (Akhtar) back.

She makes her understand that Akhtar was young at that time and also was confused about the accident so Malti should accept him now because he is guilty and asks Malti to rethink.

At the same time, Akhtar leaves the house in a taxi and after that Samrat approaches Akhtar's house and finds it empty.

In the house, Ishani supports accepting Akhtar but Nayantara tells that Malti faced everything as a wife and so she will decide next what is to happen.

Malti unannounced, visits Akhtar and talks about accepting him as he too says that as a wife she should decide.

She tells that Chintu and Shanti need a father and a son so she doesn't want Akhtar to stay away from them.

However, Malti warns that she is only giving him a second chance to be a father for Chintu but not as her husband.
