Today's Yeh Hai Chahatein 12th August 2023 episode starts with Nitya strangling Bauji telling him that it is time for him to go now.

Meanwhile, Jagdish tells Kashvi that he forgot his wallet in the room and she offers to get it for him. 

She goes inside the house and opens the door to find Nitya looming over Bauji. 

Nitya turns to see her and gets worried seeing Kashvi who enters the room and watches her. 

Nitya tells her that she should have gotten some more sleep while Kaashvi asks Nitya why she woke up so early. 

Making up a lie, Nitya tells Kashvi that she has a meeting in Delhi. 

Kashvi leaves while Nitya goes to strangle Bauji again but is stopped by Mohit's arrival. 

Later, Mohit is trying to wake up Bauji while Kashvi comes there with lunch for him. 

When Bauji does not wake up, Mohit goes to call Arjun while Kaashvi feels Bauji's pulse and finds nothing. 

They all rush to take him to the hospital where the doctor informs them that Bauji is dead. 

The couple cries hearing the news and asks if it was a heart attack while the doctor shows them the strangulation mark while revealing that it was a murder attack. 

Arjun cries that the killers managed to finally kill Bauji while Kaashvi says that she's doubtful that Taiji is the killer anymore since she's still in jail. 

As an idea comes to his mind, Arjun turns to Kaashvi and tells her that he has a way to find the killer. 

Later, the news outlets are playing the news of the attack on Digvijay (Bauji) with the lie that he has retained all his senses due to the attack. 

The news even states that Digvijay has called the police to give a statement on the killer and what happened ten years in the past. 

Nitya calls Arjun to confirm the news and Arjun lies to her that Bauji is alive and can speak also. 

Elsewhere, Mahima also sees the news and calls Nitya to tell her about it but the call does not go through. 

Kaashvi asks Arjun why he lied to Nitya and he reasons that no one can know the truth until the killers are caught. 

He tells Kaashvi to take Bauji's place on the bed and covers her with a shawl while she holds onto a button using which she can inform Arjun and the police about the killer's arrival. 

Nitya enters Bauji's room and pulls out a syringe with which she plans to kill Bauji. 

However, Mahima comes there just then and silently takes Nitya out of there and into a basement where she calls her dumb for falling into the trap. 

Nitya asks her what she is saying while Mahima reveals to her that Bauji is dead from the morning since she strangled him. 

Mahima reveals to her how she came to the hospital to meet when she overhears Arjun and Kaashvi discussing their plan. 

Nitya feels happy that the thorn is out of her way now that Bauji is dead.
