Today's Yeh Hai Chahatein 13th August 2023 episode starts with Nitya getting angry since Arjun and Kashvi tried to trick her. 

Mahima states that they should leave now while Nitya says that they will leave separately as she has returned as a dutiful wife. 

Mahima tells Nitya that she has saved her and demands she not make any more drama when asked for money. 

Nitya agrees and leaves after which she returns with Jagdish as the dutiful wife and happily asks about Bauji being back to health. 

Arjun and Kaashvi apologize stating that Bauji is dead and informs them of what happened since the morning till now. 

The police officer tells them to take Bauji's dead body home for the funeral rituals. 

The whole family cries while Nitya thinks to herself that she is finally relieved as the thorn in her path is finally dead. 

Later, Arjun is crying in his room holding Bauji's picture while Kashvi comes there and tells him that Bauji would have loved to see him happy only. 

She tells him that he should pass the exams and become a civil servant. 

He cries that he failed and that he is a failure while Kashvi encourages him telling him that he should retake his exams and make his Bauji's dream come true. 

Later, the family is grieving when Om comes there and informs them that he is returning to Haridwar. 

Before he leaves, he gives Arjun a key that Bauji would keep on him at all times. 

The family wonders what the key would be for while Jagdish reveals that he and Bauji had a joint account in the bank with a locker. 

The family arrives at the bank where upon opening the locker, they find another small box with a lock on it. 

Nitya asks Jagdish to open it while he states that they should go home and do it. 

At home, Romila is curious about what might be in the box when Arjun, Nitya, and Jagdish arrive with the small hidden box. 

Arjun rushes to his room to get the key while Romila asks what is in the box. 

From the box, a velvet pouch and another key are found making Romila laugh. 

Arjun opens the pouch and finds diamonds shocking everyone while Kashvi finds the letter and gives it to Jagdish to read. 

The letter tells how Bauji wanted Arjun to become a civil officer and that his lifetime savings are these diamonds. 

Arjun cries upon hearing the letter while Romila asks if the diamonds are real or not. 

Getting angry, Arjun states that he does not care while Nitya agrees with Romila stating that they should get the diamonds checked. 

Later, the jeweller comes home and checks the diamonds as he reveals that every single diamond is worth more than crores. 

Romila takes Mahima away while Nitya talks about how much Bauji loved Arjun. 

Kaashvi tells Arjun that he should complete Bauji's dream of becoming a civil servant by retaking the exam. 

Elsewhere, Romila rebukes Mahima for leaving Arjun who has become rich while Mahima states that she will get him back at any cost. 

She states that both Arjun and his money will be hers.
