Today's Yeh Hai Chahatein 16th May 2023 episode starts with Nitya telling everyone that the shop was put on fire intentionally and was not an accident.

A cunning Romila takes Bhaisahab aside and plots a plan to put someone else at risk to save themselves.

Meanwhile, Arjun tells Mahima that he is relieved to find Mahima safe while Kashvi, Nayan and Nitya are shocked to see them embracing each other.

Nitya, overwhelmed with Arjun's actions, takes him home while Kashvi is inconsolable realising that Arjun is in love with Mahima.

Nayan embraces a heartbroken Kashvi and pacifies her that love often hurts us and gives us immense pain.

She tells Kashvi that love happens just like that and it is nothing more than a misunderstanding making Kashvi feel better but fails.

Kashvi weeps heavily and runs to her window as she tells Nayan that she turned blind to the reality of being lost in her dreamland.

A disheartened Kashvi tells Nayan that she feels so stupid for herself while Nayan tries diverting her mind from the truth that has just hit her rock bottom.

The mother-and-daughter duo hold each other close as they provide strength to each other in these tough times.

Meanwhile, Nitya bashes Arjun for his heroic behaviour and tells him to act sensibly and think about his mother before making a foolish move.

Arjun, irked by Nitya’s bashing, confesses that he loves Mahima since childhood, leaving Nitya shocked.

He tells Nitya that he rushed without thinking about anyone for the love of his life as he saved himself by saving Mahima from the accident.

In the meantime, Mahima is overjoyed thinking about Pradyuman’s mobile gift for her.

She follows him on social media and texts him for his generous gift to her.

The next morning, Maaji, Romila, and Bhaisahab are crying over their loss while Nitya visits their house and tells them that insurance covers do not provide claims for well-executed plans.

Nitya stern with her tone tells Nayan that someone intentionally put the shop on fire and they need to find the culprit soon to provide them with the compensation.

Further, Nitya informs them and shows them a brooch while Romila tells them that this brooch belongs to the owner of the mall.

Bhaisahab also provokes Nitya against the mall owner while they shed their crocodile tears.

However, Kashvi comes to his rescue and takes his side, and refuses to accept Romila’s claim.

Nayan seeing Kashvi argue with Romila sends her back to her room.

Meanwhile, Romila remembers planting the mall owner’s brooch intentionally in the shop to blame him for putting the shop on fire.

Romila is relieved and happy to see Nitya and Nayan siding on her side and trusting her.

Nitya leaves for the police station to file the complaint and tells them to fight this through a legal battle.

On the other hand, Pradyuman is presenting a meeting in his office to Samrat and the board members.

In the meantime, Nayan walks into the office with rage and asks the receptionist for the owner of the mall.

Samrat and Pradyuman are shocked to hear the noise coming from outside.

Nayan is adamant to meet the owner and walks towards the meeting chamber and finds Pradyuman outside the chamber.

Pradyuman requests Nayan to walk aside as the meeting is going inside.

Nayan blames Pradyuman and badges him for putting her hard-earned shop on fire and snatching her dream from her.

In the meantime, Nitya walks in with police officers and is shocked to find Nitya scolding Pradyuman.

Nayan is unstoppable with her words while Nitya takes her aside grabs her hand and makes her understand that her stepping out of legal boundaries can ruin the case.

She requests Nayan to return to her home although assuring her that she will put the culprit behind bars.

As Nayan walks out of the office, Pradyuman asks Nitya about her presence in the office with the police.

Nitya tells Pradyuman that she is here with force to arrest Samrat Chaudhary for putting Supreeti Saree Centre on fire.
