Today's Yeh Hai Chahatein 20th December 2022 episode starts with Nayantara getting angry at the groom's aunt and saying that since they have asked for dowry, they are also eligible to experience the air of jail.

However, the groom's side of the family states that Malti gave it voluntarily and runs in their car while Ishani shouts behind them as they race off.

Tears drip out of Malti's eyes as she turns to face all the guests with folded hands.

Malti says that she wanted to include everyone in her happiness but it looks like Nayantara's wedding will not happen and they had to tolerate all the drama.

Malti goes inside the house as Nayan fixes her glasses, followed by Ishani, Dadi, and Chintu.

Malti's friends, the same two women gossip about the marriage being called off.

The rude one gossips that Nayantara is unlucky for her family and she cannot get married in this lifetime.

However, the other friend of Malti speaks in favor of Nayantara, saying it is best since the groom's family seemed so greedy.

Malti walks into the house lifeless and asks everyone to stop the preparations.

Nayantara takes Malti to her room who is crying.

Nayan tells her that pain cannot be removed by doing wrong things while Malti questions Nayantara if it is wrong to get her married.

Nayantara softly reminds Malti that marriage is not wrong but giving dowry is.

Ishani also tells Malti what is the point of marriage as Dadi agrees with her granddaughters and accuses Malti of wanting to get rid of Nayantara.

Malti breaks down and cries, and says she is tired of hearing the taunts society gives, and with every taunt, her heart gets sliced.

Malti looks at Nayantara and reveals that she cannot put Ishani's life at risk if Nayan as an elder sister doesn't get married as it is her responsibility as a mother to look after her kids.

Nayantara says that she didn't make her face since it is god's creation, however, she tried her best to be the best student, get good grades, and get the best job as a physiotherapist.

With a low voice, Nayantara then says that if the face is the only way to get recognition, she doesn't want it.

Meanwhile, Malti says that a woman is incomplete without a man but both Ishani and Nayan correct her, saying that the times have changed and girls have reached the moon and back.

Still, Malti persists that how will Nayan manage when she is at her lowest, then who will be there to take care of her?

Just like any other mother, Malti says that life without a life partner is incomplete while Ishani comes and hugs both of them along with their Dadi.

Meanwhile, somewhere in London, a crowd of fans wait for their favorite rockstar, and screeches his name "Samrat!".

Samrat makes a grand entry and comes down to the stage after flying in the air.

He starts to play the guitar and his fan girls go crazy.

Back in India, Chintu points out that a falling star is passing by and all of them make a wish to see Nayantara get married to the man who is written in her destiny and will give her everything she deserves.
