Today's Yeh Hai Chahatein 9th April 2023 episode starts with Akhtar confessing that he had lost all hope and never thought of meeting Nayantara again.

Ishani tells that within ten years he didn't contact his daughters while Samrat is confused because he knew Nayantara's father had died.

When Aliya and Samrat see the face of Akhtar, they both are shocked and decide to go away from the place before Akhtar recognizes them.

Mohit feels bad because Samrat is losing his chance to confess but Samrat says Nayantara just got to know her father is alive after ten years and is already shocked.

That is why he doesn't want to reveal another truth to her.

Meanwhile, Nayantara, Ishani, and Akhtar sit down as Akhtar confesses that although he has always loved Malti, still he had to make distance from them because he got caught up in an affair.

Nayantara doubts his love for Malti but Akhtar tells that he still loves Malti but his first love was Aarti, his college friend.

He explains that his parents married him to Malti because Aarti went to London and later when she came back after ten years, he again fell for her.

He confesses that he betrayed Malti and also Aarti because she too had a family of her own.

In a flashback, Aarti confesses that she still loves Akhtar just like before and Akhtar gets happy to hear it.

He fantasizes about them together, happily married to each other rather than having a different married life.

Still in the flashback, Paati calls Akhtar to ask him to go to the hospital immediately because Malti got labour pain.

Aarti asks to drop her on the way as Akhtar drives roughly and fast in that heavy rain and thunder.

She asks him to drive slowly as they will need at least an hour before he reaches the hospital.

Aarti informs him that her husband is suspecting her of having an affair, but she wants to stay with him forever.

Akhtar says that as they have different families and it is impossible to stay together as they try to kiss each other.

Suddenly a car comes and Akhtar tries to save it from the accident but the car bumps into a tree.

They approach it and Aarti is shocked to find out her husband Ashok is dead inside.

She checks through his phone and finds pictures of her and Akhtar together and understands that he wanted to catch her red-handed and came to Delhi from London.

She suggests Akhtar escape with her to London and give her daughter and herself the love that Ashok never gave them.

Akhtar feels guilty for leaving Malti but Aarti makes him understand the reality that if he stays back, he will be called a murderer.

He puts his shirt on Ashok and makes it look like Akhtar died in an accident and goes away.

Back to the present moment, he feels guilty because, after a few years, Aarti died of cancer, and also Malti didn't accept his apology.

Nayantara is surprised to hear Malti knowing he is alive two years ago, as Akhtar explains how Malti slapped him as he made her suffer and their daughters for eight years.
