Today's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) 14th August 2023 episode starts with Abhimanyu worrying about Akshara and Abheer and how they must be managing themselves. 

On the other hand, Manish and Suhasini and others are in pain at the loss of Abhinav and wouldn’t it be better if God took their life instead of Abhinav? 

Kairav is devastated too and asks Manish why he taught them that those who did good deeds get good rewards because Akshara is facing the opposite. 

Meanwhile, Surekha tells them that there is nothing good or bad deeds or else Akshara would not have been suffering. 

Just then Pandit Ji comes there and asks them who will perform the final rites. 

Suhasini tells them that as per the ritual, Abheer should perform the final rites while Swarna tells her that Akshara is not in the right set of mind to explain to Abheer about Abhinav so they will have to do it. 

Just then Akshara comes there and tells them that Abheer will not be performing the final rites of Abhinav as he is too young to understand all this.

She says that he will not be able to get rid of the image that will be left with him for the rest of his life. 

Manish then asks Akshara who will surrender Abhinav to fire while Akshara tells him that she will do it. 

Later, Manish and Swarna come to the children’s room where they are making preparations for the party while waiting for Abhinav. 

With heavy hearts, Manish and Swarna engage them in cartoons and shut the door. 

Later, Akshara descends the stairs in white clothes and watches Abhinav’s body ready for his final journey in the world.

Akshara tells him that she is not letting Abheer perform his final rites and knows that he would have done the same to keep Abheer from this painful experience. 

She also complains to him for leaving her midway when there is so much left to be done.

After a while, Akshara thanks him for coming into her life and that he is the best chapter of her life and will always be. 

She assures him to go peacefully and not worry about her as she will manage everything. 

After a while, Pandit Ji tells everyone that it is time to take Abhinav to the burial ground. 

On the other hand, Abheer and Ruhi get bored with the cartoons and try to go out to check if Abhinav has returned or not but find themselves locked.

As everyone takes Abhinav to their final destination, Ruhi and Abheer try to get out of the room and wonder why they have been locked in.

Later, Suhasini, Neelam Amma and Surekha hear a shattering of glass and wonder what has happened. 

Meanwhile, Akshara walks with a pot of sacred water around Abhinav’s pyre and recalls all the moments that they spent together. 

With shaking hands, she lights Abhinav’s pyre and tells him goodbye.  

On the other hand, Abhimanyu is worried and asks the lawyer to get him out as he wants to be with his son. 

Meanwhile, Manjari arrives at the burial ground while Kairav stands in her way as she tries to hug Akshara. 

However, Kairav tells her that she does not have the right to hug Akshara as she only has a son. 

Seeing Manjari beg, Manish tells Kairav to get out of the way while Muskaan questions him for allowing the people, responsible for Abhinav’s death, to attend his funeral. 

However, Manish tells her that they have come to see Abhinav one last time so they should let them.
