Today's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) 16th October 2023 episode starts with Akshara walking towards the doctor's cabin with laden legs while everyone’s words bombard her mind, making her shake. 

Just then, the nurse comes to her saying that if she has filled out the form as the doctor is calling her in.

Meanwhile, Abhimanyu calls Akshara to find out where she is while Akshara lets the phone ring. 

The doctor asks Akshara if she has come alone and tells her that emotionally it is a very big decision.

She also tells her to call someone to take her home after the procedure as she will be feeling weak. 

Meanwhile, Akshara stares at the doctor with empty eyes as if she feels dead from the inside. 

She apologises to her baby saying she will have to make this choice to protect Abheer. 

In the meantime, the doctor calls Akshara’s gynaecologist to inform her about Akshara’s decision and that she looks very stressed. 

The gynaecologist tells the doctor not to perform the procedure but the doctor tells her that she can not do it. 

Afterwards, Akshara’s doctor calls Abhimanyu to tell her about her abortion but Abhimanyu cannot hear her because of poor signal.

In the meantime, the doctor comes looking for Abhimanyu and finds him in the corridor while Akshara signs the form feeling guilty and tells the baby to forgive her mother. 

The doctor informs her that they are ready to perform the procedure which breaks Akshara’s heart into pieces. 

Abhimanyu rushes out of the hospital telling Aarohi to look after Abheer as Akshara has gone for an abortion. 

He drives like crazy, praying for Akshara not to go through this decision. 

After a while, Manish asks Aarohi if she is able to connect to Akshara or Abhimanyu while Aarohi tells them that both Abhimanyu and Akshara are not picking up their phone. 

Just then, Abhimanyu and Akshara come back and Manish hurries to her asking if she has aborted her child.

However, Akshara tells them that she cannot go through the procedure and tells them how Abhimanyu reached there in time lending his strength and telling her that she will always have support. 

Akshara recalls the agony she went through after signing the paper and how she broke apart seeing Abhimanyu. 

She has told him that it is only his words that kept her strong and she could not bring herself to kill the baby for Abheer’s sake.

At the same time, Abhimanyu thanks her for listening to him and that he will always be with her. 

Later, Manjari is walking to her room when she and Abhimanyu’s photo frame falls on the floor breaking into two parts. 

Manjari is trying to fix this when Abhimanyu comes to her asking her how can she make another mother drive to abortion. 

Manjari is unapologetic and tells him that she should have gone through the abortion. 

Abhimanyu is shocked at her reaction and tells her that she has lost herself in being stubborn and she should give up being so selfish. 

However, Manjari tells him that she is doing everything to see him happy and it is only possible when Abhinav’s baby is not in the picture. 

Abhimanyu tells her that if Akshara had gone through the procedure then her guilt would never allowed her to be happy.

Also, Abhimanyu asks her to have some faith in him instead of going to extreme measures.

Manjari tells him that Akshara will soon forget everything and start living in the present after she aborts the child.
