Today's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (YRKKH) 18th May 2022 episode starts with Abhimanyu and Akshara being welcomed by the staff.

In his cabin, Abimanyu tells Akshara never to let her dream die and tells her about his plans for the music department.

Akshara feels pain at all the talks about the music department and tells Abhimanyu that she does not want the music department. 

Meanwhile, Aarohi gets a bouquet from Rudra which confuses her when she gets a call from him. 

Abhimanyu is shocked to hear Aksahra’s decision and tries to encourage her not to feel scared at the thought of handling the department. 

Akshara trying to take the blame tells Abhimanyu that she feels that she is being gifted such an opportunity and feels that she does not deserve this. 

Abhimanyu feels offended at Akshara's suggestion of being handed over everything and tells her it is not wrong to take help from people to move on in careers or else he should also doubt himself.

Just then Abhimanyu gets disturbed by another doctor and AKsahra tells him that they will talk later.

However, Abhimanyu now wants to solve the mystery behind Akshara’s attitude and soon understands that it is all Harshvardhan’s doing.

At the house, Abhimanyu and Harshavardhan fight about shutting down the music department. 

Harshvardhan informs Abhimanyu that they will be opening an IVF facility where the music department is.

Abhimanyu tells him that like all therapists Akshara will also need a separate space to conduct her therapies and explains to him the benefit of music therapy. 

Harshvardhan insults Akshara making Abhimanyu accuse Harshvardhan of trying to subdue Akshara's talent like Manjari which he will not allow.

Anand asks Abhimanyu and Harshvardhan to not make the discussion personal.

He then asks Harshvardhan to call the meeting with the research team and comes to a decision based on facts and figures.

However, Harshvardhan does not approve of the idea and tells him that he does not appreciate any interference in his work.

Seeing the fight progressing, Akshara tells them that she has decided not to work there. 

Mahima approves of Akshara's decision and tells Abhimanyu to not waste time fighting for someone who is not inclined to work there.

Hearing Akshara's decision Harshvardhan taunts Abhimanyu for taking the side of people who are weak and does not deserve consideration. 

Abhimanyu feels disappointed in Akshara and leaves.
